Data Recovery
Data recovery (not to be confused with data backup) is retrieving lost, deleted or damaged files. The files may have been deleted by accident, or the hard drive might have been damaged or simply have failed. It is quite time consuming recovering files, so it is only worthwhile considering if the files are valuable to you. Data recovery is not a substitute for implementing a proper backup system.
What we do
We use special equipment and software to help in the recovery process. We recover files to a CD or a DVD. Sometimes we may only recovery parts of a file. We may be able to recover single files, directories or whole disks. If we cannot recover any data we will not make a charge, but if we do recover data we cannot guarantee that it will be what you want. Unfortunately the recovery process trawls in dozens of files and parts of files.
What does it cost?
It is difficult to say because the recovery may be quite simple and therefore completed quickly, or it can be complicated, taking several hours just to recover a single file. If you wish, you may set a ceiling to the time we spend on recovery. Once we know the size of the problem we should be able to give you some guidance on price.
