How it works
You give us a call and we visit you at your home or workplace. We can call daytime, evenings or even weekends, at a time to suit you. We will fix your computer on the spot if we can, otherwise it is taken to our workshop for further work.
What we do
We examine the computer and give you our evaluation of the problem and price for the repair if it cannot be repaired in the half hour included in the callout charge. If we cannot fix the problem, for any reason, we will tell you, but this rarely happens. You decide whether you wish us to proceed.
If we can fix the problem, but you decide not to ask us to do so for some reason, then we will pay nothing more than the callout fee. You might decide that the cost of fixing the problem is not economical, or it may be that the repair could be carried out under warrantee.
Once you have agreed to the repair we will carry it out as quickly as possible. Usually if it is going to take more than a couple of hours, or it requires parts or data backup, we will take the computer back to our workshop. A workshop repair will usually take a few days, especially if we need to get parts, or if we have to do data recovery. If you need an express service then this may be available for a small extra charge.
When the job is finished, if we have taken it away, we will return your computer to you.
What we do not do
We cannot reinstall software to which you are not legally entitled. If software installation is required we will ask you to sign a statement to say that you will only ask us to install software to which you are entitled.
We may not be able to repair computers with non-standard operating systems such as Linux, Ubuntu, Unix or Mac.Please enquire. We can usually repair computers running under some obsolete operating systems like Windows 98, Windows 95, Windows ME and so on. Please enquire.
We do not backup data unless you instruct us to do so. We will ask you to sign to say that you have backed up the data yourself. Data backup is available from us as an optional extra. You should be aware that data backup takes a very long while if a lot of data is involved.
We cannot fix some ADSL (broadband) problems without a site visit as we need access to your telephone line.
We cannot fix your computer if it is password protected. If you have lost or forgotten your password we may be able to still fix your computer, but we would charge extra for the time needed for this work.
