If you have not made your own backup of your hard disk you may want us to do this for you. This is always recommended if we are doing work on your hard disk, and is also recommended if you do not do your own regular backups. Remember a hard disk can go wrong at any time, so it is essential that valuable data is protected.
What we do
We usually backup to another hard disk, but if only a small amount of data is involved we may backup to a memory stick. We backup your documents, pictures, emails and other work files. We normally keep our backup copy for a few weeks before confidentially destroying the data. This ensures that you have time to make sure that all your data has been protected whilst we have worked on your computer.
If you wish we can provide archive copies of your data on DVD, or we can continue to store the data on a dedicated hard disk for you until instructed. Please enquire for prices.
What we do not do
This service is not data recovery, that is the rescue of files that have been deleted, or are stored on disks that have crashed, been formatted, or become unreadable. We do provide data recovery services, but on an hourly basis.
We can offer backup of data larger than 40Gb, please ask for a price. Remember the amount of data is not the same as your hard disk size, and will usually be considerably less than the disk size. 40Gb represents a great deal of data.
Regular Backups
We can set up regular backups of your important data. There are various ways this can be done including a system you can operate yourself or by us performing regular backups for you. It is even possible to set up a system which is operated over the Internet with your data being stored on secure rmote servers. Please feel free to discuss your needs.
